Happy Halloween!

3 reasons to be happy

Ringing ears and happy hearts

We had an amazing time the other night worshiping LOUD.  We got to take Jayce to see We As Human, Manafest, Disciple, and Skillet in concert.  It was an awesome concert: the effects, the singing, the jumping and fist pumping, the lyrics, but mostly the testimony from these amazing Christian rock artists.  This type of music may not be for everyone (although it is definitely for us :) but the worship and ministry is undeniable.  At the end of the night, we left with ringing ears and happy hearts because we haven’t had that much fun worshiping in a while :)

 Psalm 100:1-2 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.  Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.

Psalm 98:4  Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music;

Psalm 95:1-3  Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.  Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.  For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods.

FUNdraising :)

As we prepare for adoption #2, I thought it was time to announce that I am officially FUNdraising.  Some of you already know this because you have purchased things from me-THANK YOU!!!-, but in case you didn’t know (and with Christmas not all that far away) I thought I would go ahead and let you all in on it :)  I am selling necklaces and bags that are made in Uganda.  That way, by purchasing one of these items, you are not only supporting us as we try and raise some money to help with some of the upcoming expenses, you are supporting the amazing ladies that make these items for a living in Uganda.  I personally love wearing my beads and using my bag and I think they are really cool, unique gifts.  Also, I am selling leg warmers for babies, toddlers, and little girls.  I have different styles and they are super cute.  Kai has a few pairs and I get compliments on them whenever she wears them.  If you are interested in any of these items, please let me know (by commenting here or on facebook or emailing me at harveyj1@gmail.com).  I am happy to ship anything as well.  Below are a few sample pictures, but I have other varieties as well.  If you are looking for a specific color bag, necklace, or leg warmer just let me know and I can try and get it for you :)

What I’m Lovin’ on Kai these days…

After having two boys, I am having a blast dressing Kai.

My new favorite thing for her to wear is…

If you are thinking a tutu, you’re close. I do LOVE tutus (is there anything girlier than a tutu???)  But, that isn’t it.

Leg warmers!!!! Love them.  (Yes, that is a diaper next to her.  I know, gross, but I just changed her out of her pajamas and got her ready for her day.)

Kai LOVES them too!  Aren’t they adorable????  Don’t you want your little one (and these ones here are actually supposed to be knee protectors, or whatever they are called, for boys) to have some?  Or, with the Holidays approaching, wouldn’t they make great gifts?

You know you want some :)  Seriously, though, aren’t they cute.  I am thinking of selling some to raise money for our next adoption.  So, anyone who reads this, if you would be interested…let me know in the comments.  I am trying to get an idea if it would be worth it to stock up on some and sell them (I am thinking I could sell them for $10 a pair)…if this isn’t really your thing, that’s cool. I still have necklaces and purses available.  Oh, and am I too old to rock some leg warmers???? Cause I REALLY want to :)

10 months and counting!

I cannot believe it has been over 10 months since we first met our beautiful little girl.  She was so tiny and, for the most part, calm (probably in shock!)  Now she is big and full of life and energy.  She acts like a typical two year old (although she is not yet two based on her bday, but could be or close to it.)  She is in to EVERYTHING!  I think her favorite thing to do is find a toy, shoe, piece of garbage, whatever, and drag it around the house.  Then she leaves it wherever and finds something else.  She is probably one of the happiest toddlers ever.  She can throw some major fits if she isn’t getting what she wants (usually more food), but most of the time she is just being silly and smiling.  She loves to be chased and she can run REALLY fast!  It is weird because while I can’t believe that it has already been 10 months, I also can’t remember life without her.  I feel like she has always been here and it seems unreal that 10.5 months ago we had not even met her in person yet.  So excited to see how she grows and changes in the months ahead!!!!

Go here and here check out my sweet little girl!  This is the website for the agency we were using for Taiwan and will be using for our next Ugandan adoption.  They have helped us do our home studies and post placements and we LOVE them, especially Sharon Bradshaw!!!!!  We highly recommend them for anyone interested in one of their programs or who needs a home study :)  Also, you can read our friends’ adoption story on the website.  We traveled with them and got to know them while in Uganda and LOVE them so check it out!
